The community will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, condiments, and beverages.

Bring a dish to share: salad, chips, dessert — all welcome.

Enjoy games, fabulous prizes, socializing, and good times for all!

Bring your family, your beach chairs, your hats and sunscreen and your appetite. See you there!

4:30 p.m. — Potluck dinner at the beach
5:30 p.m. — Community meeting

Meeting topics: updates from board’s meeting with Northwest Water about water system regulations; voting for officers (please call Gayle if you are interested in running for a position); review of beach/dock use and guidelines; and more.

Shrimping season also starts on Saturday, May 4.

What a Great Crew!

Last Sunday, a Shorehill work party raked up rocks and spread topsoil on the beach in preparation for hydroseeding. With many rakes, the crew completed the work in less than four hours.

Many, many thanks to those who spent a hot summer day improving our community.

The deer family made an appearance but not on the beach.

Beach Restoration Project Update

The major undertaking to restore the beach is moving forward.

This Shorehill resident, his (?) twin and mama are not very concerned about the beach.

More Progress on the Beach

Every week brings a little more progress on rebuilding the beach. In addition to what you see here, conversations with the PUD to move the light pole away from the boat launch turnaround have started.

Small Work Parties Tackle Big Jobs

The bathrooms in the community center took a big hit in this month's storms. While Crystal and Paul did a back-breaking amount of work cleaning up the picnic area on the beach, Chris, Sandy and Pete tackled the bathroom. Many thanks to Sandy for sharing the photos and the report.

"Hey! Pete and Sandy," Chris said. "Wanna help me get to the bathrooms?" Being a good neighbor and all, Pete and Sandy said yes. It only took seven hours of digging. (Annika and Rebecka did their part by picking up wood on the beach and putting it in the fire pit — great job, girls!)

Perspective: the wheelbarrow sits about 32 inches high. Pete is standing on the top of the washed-in dirt. You can see the waterline on the bathroom door.

You had to watch your step before going into the women's bathroom.
