Shorehill came out of the rainiest day of the year in good shape. Gayle walked up to the reservoir and took these photos:

SHOREHILL FARING WELL THROUGH CURRENT RAINSTORM
For those who may be wondering how things are here at Shorehill with all the rain,
I thought I'd let you know all seems to be well. I took a walk up to the watershed today and all the drainage work we did looks secure and seems to be handling the volume of water well.

Sun Before Snow?
Saturday was a sunny but cool day at Shorehill. The new dock looks great in the sun!
Snow on Sunday? Or just rain?

Thank You!
The dock and pier project is pretty well completed. Within the next couple of weeks Lakeshore Construction will come out and place some bird proofing under the pier and on the handrails. Ron will be doing some final weather proofing to the ends of the pier boards which were cut during installation. After that Mason County will come out for a final inspection. The floats will stay in year round and our yearly maintenance will consist of weatherproofing the wood to preserve the life of the wood portions of the dock.
I want to say thank you to Lakeshore Construction for doing such a great job and for being so great to work with. It has been a pleasure doing business with them. We couldn’t have asked for greater pride in workmanship than what they have given us.
I also want to thank Pete and Brooke for doing the initial legwork to get bids for our project; Kyle and Ron Izatt for their early consultation on the project; Bill and Darlene Kennedy for their trip to the county to find out what it would take to get things rolling; Ron for his patience while I completed the paperwork for our permitting; Karl, Pete, Ron, Tim, and Tom for their help with demolition of the old pier; Karen for collecting the assessments and keeping track of the finances; Sue for posting the pictures and the entire Board (Nancy Anderson, Judy Radnich, Tom Horn, Pete Goranson, Brooke Scheib, Keith Luttenbacher, Bill and Darlene Kennedy, Karen and Grant Lau) for “seeing the vision” of what is now a beautiful addition to our community and finding a way to make it all happen.
Lastly I want to thank everyone in the community who voted YES and passed approval of this project, everyone who faithfully paid the assessment and those of you who have provided support throughout the project.
Together we all made it happen. What a great accomplishment for our community. We should all be very proud of our new dock and pier and we should all make a personal commitment to help keep it as beautiful as it is now.
Thanks so much to everyone!
Gayle

Dock Replacement — Part IX
Almost done! On Thursday, the contractor will install the ramp. On Friday, workers will add metal-coated black wiring to pier rails and add handrails. They also will finish off the pilings with black cone-shaped tops that will keep birds from landing and or nesting there. The new dock could be completed this weekend.
