On September 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm my family will be spreading my aunt's ashes down by the water. Thank you for being respectful of our gathering of family and friends. This was my aunt's happy place. Her greatest joy was being in the sun, crabbing and getting oysters off the beach. She made the best oyster stew. My aunt was a realtor for many years on the North Shore and ended up finding my parents our land and cabin. She blessed all of us with her cooking, love of the water and usually a dog by her side. Thanks Auntie for the memories and your "far out" lifestyle.

Our next community work party is scheduled for September 9, 2023. We have several projects planned that will need to have plenty of people available to help complete the projects. Please mark your calendar now for September 9th - 9:00 am - 1:30 pm and let us know what project you would like to help with.
Sightings of bear scat within Shorehill Estates have been reported. Be cautious.
Bear poop, or scat, is tubular like human feces but larger. It is often found along trails or at the base of trees or plants. The color and material of bear scat vary depending on what the bear is eating. Bears are mostly vegetarian and eat grass, roots, wood debris, ants, or pine cones. In late summer, they eat large amounts of berries, which make their scat runny and blackish-red with visible seeds.
There is an unknown car parked at the top of Marine View Drive. Does anyone have information about this car? If you do please contact me. Thanks so much.

Sincere condolences to the Falk family who recently lost their son Richard, age 36, in a tragic car accident. Richard (Rick) was a part of our community and worked with us during the past work party. His gentle quietness and presence will be missed.
Rick's memorial will be on July 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Sand Hill County Parks Ball Fields where he worked. The family plans to keep it simple with a memorial tree planting and invites anyone who wants to come to attend. They suggest you bring your folding chairs as there will not be seating at the ball field. There will be opportunity for those who want to talk about Rick to do so. The family plans to share some pupus and refreshments.
Along with the flowers sent to the family on behalf of the community, we will continue to be here as a community extending our friendship, support and a listening ear in the days ahead to Bob, Marilyn and family.
We will work until approximately 1:30 pm and then return to the beach at 2:30 pm for our Spring Community Meeting. Please bring your folding chairs and join us at the beach.
We will be voting for the following positions:
President (currently held by Gayle Robbins) - Treasurer (currently held by Karen Lau) - and 3 board positions currently held by Tom Horn, Bryan Trullinger and Nancy Anderson. Please submit your interest in and/or recommendation for these positions prior to our meeting.
Remember to check the blog at shorehill.blogspot.com for any community updates throughout the year. You may also turn on setting to receive automatic notification when posts are made to the blog.
We look forward to seeing everyone on May 6, 2023. Should you have anything to add to the work party plan or the meeting agenda please let us know. We value your input and participation and all that is collectively done to sustain our community environment and culture.
