MINUTES AND REPORTS

Minutes: It was moved, seconded and approved that the minutes from the May 5 meeting be approved as sent out to the members.

Community Financial Report: A current financial report was presented to those in attendance at the meeting. It was moved, seconded and approved that we accept the financial report as presented.

Water Financial Report: A current water financial report was presented to those in attendance at the meeting. It was moved, seconded and approved that the water financial report be accepted as presented.

Architectural Control Committee: Sandy Goranson reported that an issue had come up which was referred to the board. Other than that, nothing to report.

Road Report: Tom Horn that the sinkhole on Marine View Dr. was dug up this summer and filled with crushed rock and paved with asphalt. There was an additional very large sink hole discovered at the base of Marine View Drive, in front of Furin's property, which was due to a leak in a property line. Water had cut a tunnel underneath the roadway. Repairs were made. Water to that property has been shut off and a repair bill for the work to fix the resulting problem has been sent to the property owner.

OLD BUSINESS

  • Bills for dues will be sent out within the next couple of months. They will reflect the increase voted on at the May meeting. ($230 per year, $50 credit for workparty participants or those over 65)
  • The pump project for Marine View Dr. has been abandoned at this time due to bids received meaning this project would cost over $20,000 in the end.
  • The country has asked us to sign a “franchise agreement” which would allow work to be done on our utilities. We have sent the agreement to our insurance company to see if the insurance requirements spelled out in the franchise agreement are being met at this time. When we hear from them, we will sign the agreement. Members questioning the reason for this agreement were told that basically it is not optional, as it is a new requirement of the county.

NEW BUSINESS

  • There are three properties for sale in the community.
  • The docks will be pulled sometime in October. Tom will get help to take care of this.
  • Please let Sandy Goranson know if you are interested in ordering embroidered apparel with the Shore Hill logo. She hopes to set up a place of cafepress.com where other items can be ordered with the logo.

THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED

The next work day and community meeting are scheduled for May 3, 2008.

Rainbow's End

They say that there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but we know that it is really our little community on Hood Canal -- Shorehill Estates. Here's a photo of a spectacular rainbow over the Canal taken from the Veseths' cabin on the hill.
